Durham Tees Valley Probation Trust will complete a risk assessment on every offender subject to Statutory Supervision, ensuring that an offenders risk is appropriately managed in order to protect the public from harm.
We complete a risk assessment on every offender subject to supervision, ensuring that an offenders risk is appropriately managed in order to protect the public from harm.
Certain offenders are assessed as presenting a high or very high risk of harm to individuals or the community. In such cases the offenders risk may be such that they are managed by Multi Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA). This requires all agencies involved with the offender to attend meetings. During these meetings, all relevant information is shared about the offender and decisions are made about how the agencies can work together to keep the identified victims safe from harm.
The Trust has specialist Public Protection Teams who work in conjunction with the police and offenders assessed as posing a significant risk of harm including those who are subject to Sex Offender Registration.
