Welcome to the Durham Tees Valley Probation Trust Website.

A warm welcome from
Russell Bruce, Chief Executive

Welcome to the website of Durham Tees Valley Probation Trust.

You have probably heard of ‘probation’ before but may not be aware of the scale and breadth of our remit and the crucial fact that our work is carried out on behalf of our communities, working with key partners to protect the public from harm and reduce re-offending.  And our task is a challenging one.

At any one time our staff are supervising around 6,800 offenders; approximately 1,500 of those serving a custodial sentence.  Each year our staff produce approximately 7,500 reports for Courts and the Parole Board, supporting the work of the Courts in Middlesbrough, Hartlepool, Darlington, Durham, Newton Aycliffe, Peterlee, Consett and the Crown Courts in Teesside and Durham.

I am committed to supporting the ongoing development of our Trust as we evolve to meet the future.  These are challenging and exciting times and I invite you to learn more about what we do and how we are continuing to shape our organisation.
