Community Payback has been involved in a large partnership project with Stockton Borough Council after residents of Mary Street in Thornaby asked for a piece of land to be cleared and returned to accessible community use. This is now known as St Lukes Paddock and under the guidance of the Council’s Parks Department offenders cleared the area before painting the railings. This area will now be subject to ongoing development and improvement.
Offenders have been involved in the planning of a community orchard in Billingham, the creation of a wetland area at Charltons and Billingham and new allotment plots in Thornaby, 6 of which have been specifically designed for disabled users.
