The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is a Board member and Accountable Officer responsible for the day to day running of the Trust. The CEO is employed directly by the Trust Board and is its chief professional advisor. The CEO line manages Executive Directors and supports their efforts, on behalf of the Board, to deliver the Trust's contract with the Secretary of State.
The Director ensures the effective delivery of Offender Services within the allocated Local Delivery Unit(s) and represents the Probation Trust in inter-agency liaison and strategic development within the Local Delivery Unit. Together with the Chief Executive and the support function Directors they are members of the Executive Senior Management team who are responsible for the overall strategic development, effective delivery of specific areas of operational responsibility and management of the Probation Trust.
Working to a Director, each Lead Manager will be responsible for overseeing a group of operational teams each managed by an operational Probation Manager. The Lead Managers will contribute to the corporate management of the Trust and assist in the development and effective implementation of operational policy and procedure within a framework provided by the Trust’s business plan.
The Probation Manager on a day to day basis, will be responsible specifically for managing an allocated area of the business, within a framework provided by the Trusts Business Plan, Policies and Procedures, Financial Regulations and identified Critical Success Factors. The Probation Manager oversee’s the achievement of targets within budget and works to recognise quality practice standards in Offender Management, Court Services, Unpaid Work or a Specialist Role with identified areas of work.
Contributes towards the operation of an allocated area of the business namely, Unpaid Work, Court Services and Approved Premises by ensuring the effective management of staff, tasks and implementation of policies as directed by the Probation Manager.
