Focussing on Victims in our Work with Offenders

In the work that we do with offenders, we make it a priority to develop their understanding of the consequences of their offending.

The vast majority of offenders subject to supervision and management from Durham Tees Valley Probation Trust are required to complete work which has been specially designed to increase their awareness of the impact of their offending upon the victims and also upon the local community and wider society.

Additionally, we strongly endeavour to identify and protect victims and potential victims from the consequences of possible further offending. This is achieved not only through the direct work we do with offenders, but through our participation in Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA) and comprehensive co-working with partnership services and agencies, including the local police services and social services.
